Ihsan turns one yesterday. How time flies!
Since it's Ramadhan, we had a small break fast together with closed relatives at MIL's.
Menu of the day consists of nasi tomato, mee kari, rojak buah, watermelon as fruit desert. There's 3 drinks of the day; watermelon juice, orange punch and tea o for hot drinks' lover.
Chef of the day is of course... ME..nah, of course it's my MIL.
She starts gathering ingredients since early morning and roughly starts preparing thereafter. Such a long day!
On the other hand, the birthday boy is actually quite cranky yesterday. At first we thought it was the hot weather that his head is quite warm. With some reduced appetite, I thought its normal for him since he turns one that he wanted to try something new.
So there he is, quite cranky thru-out the say, refusing to sleep. But still active none the less.
In the evening, he had a bunch of watermelons while his wany cuts it for the juice drinks. I mean a really good Bunch of them. So I didn't bother to prepare his usual dinner.
"Nak.. Nak," what he usually would say when he wants something; with his small finger pointing at things.
A big boy huh.
It's his usual routine to be in bed by 830. So at those peak hours after everyone enjoying the meal, his crankiness severed that I just had to bring him to bed and just make sure he falls asleep at those moments of time.
He is cranky, he is sleepy but he still refuse to sleep. And his forehead are just warm and it is definitely not due to hot weather. And he just start scratching here and there.
Phew, at last he managed to fall asleep just an hour later!
So when everyones' tummy been resting for quite some time, it's the peak time of the event, cake time!
But uh oh where's the birthday boy!??!
Haha definitely already sailing in his LaLa Land..
So his sister and the gang aka her cousins replace it for him. They sang, a bunch of 4 years old toddlers and cut the cake together and ate them bits by bits err around the cake
Mind you! They took the abc on the cake and also the little piece of it which decorates the cake. Well what can I say, they are just toddlers!
When everyone went home, thennn he started screaming. The real time is coming.
Uh-oh he is having FEVER! and looks like a tummy-ache too. He just farts like nobody cares.
He screams when he is sleepy and his tears starts rolling. Oh boy that sure must be a painful one!
Of course supp voltaren will come in to play. He is having tummy ache and his fever started to kick in. No time for syrup of course.
After a bouts of creaming and crying and tepid-ing, he managed to fallback asleep in his daddy's arm.
Just when I was about to have my own sweet dreams, he started cranky again. Wait, something is just not right.
The way he cries.. He is having chills!
His fever is creeping. And probably his tummy-ache too..
Oh there goes My long day! I need to hide those panda eyes..
Sleep come to mommy!~

Run baby run
My little Prince Charming has turned 11 months last week. How time flies.
At 11 months old, he is already standing on his two foot, cruising around the house just like a cutey little penguin.
Well I can say that he is quite fast compared to his sister.
At 9 months old he already begins his adventure to this whole new world, trying to stand up steadily.
And ohh..Didn't I tell you he is quite a chatter. I wonder where did he get that from. 100% sure it's not mine.
I think I should get him a phone on his own cause he will started to babbles as soon as he saw somebody on the phone. How smart! Did anybody taught him that?
Babies are cool really, don't you think?
It is still 1 month away before he turns one.
And oh man I just could not imagine how it's gonna be when he starts running!
Our house gonna be in a total chaos and surely we have to stand guard 24/7.
Surely it won't be baby steps anymore.

Cheeky little master

See, he is in the move

Time for a break. You should get yours too..
Sigh.. When did he grew up so fast..

The scariest moment
It was initially a fine evening. But it ended urm bad
So I gave my lil hero a plastic spoon for him to hold, well to keep him from jumping and searching for thing while cleaning his poo.
That 'nasty' spoon!
He was holding that purple spoon happily. The spoon really attracts his attention with the colour and the shape and the patterns and everything seems so perfect about the spoon
Jut then, he suddenly fell down anddd prick his nostril!
Ouch!
Its sure a really hurtful one.
He did not let out a single cry at all. He just kept quiet. His mouth open wide as if he wanted to cry but he did not let out any noise at all. He held his hand up in the air. And he just went stiff.
Time stopped at that very moment of time.
He nearly turns blue. With not a single cry. I felt really terrified. I pat him on the back and soon he resumes his breathing. He cried really loud after that.
That was really the scariest moment in my life. I could feel that my heart stops beating at that single moment. My hands tremble.
It is not funny.
Breath holding spells is no joke!
But seriously no one knew what actually happened. All I knew is that his right nostril bleeds. Nothing in his throat. No active bleeding elsewhere except his nostril.
I would not forgive myself if anything happens to him at that time..

6 months

He is in his fourth week of 6 month old. Alhamdulillah I'm able to exclusively breastfeed him for his first 6 months of life. Now he is weaning with potatoes, rice porridge etc.

He is becoming more active and alert day by day. He loves to babble and he is becoming quite loud now. Not the quiet little hero anymore.
At 6 months old, he is able to turn from supine to prone and so forth. Now he even started to crawl for a few steps before he falls down on his tummy cause you know his head and arm is not that strong yet to hold up his weight.
Owh did I mention that whenever there's anywhere that he could hold, he will Start to stand up on his feet. Yup that's my hero!
I still could not imagine how will it be when he turns one! Guess I could not let my guards down even for a second.. Oh my hero!

First day of school
Missy Huda has grown a lot
And so here comes the schooling part
She enrolled into Brainy Bunch Selayang Baru Kampus, just 5 minutes drive from my workplace
So now I have another routine sending her to school before going to work
Life's much better in anesth department, so yeah why not trying
We both took leaves for her first day at school
Knowing her father, I know taking leave is a MUST or else I'll might be ending with EL. Hahaha!
So we settled all the uniform stuff and etc way before hand
She was pretty excited knowing that she's going to school
With her new owl bag and what not
She kept on telling everyone that she's going to school
So the real day has come
She DOESNT WANT TO GO TO SCHOOL
She REFUSE TO WAKE UP in the morning
She refuse to be in her uniform
Practically she refuse everything about school
DANG!
As expected..! She is daddy's princess after all!
What more do I need to say here
She was bathed and dressed in her uniform in so much difficulty
More like a battle!
When we get there she was calm at first
However she refuse to let me or her daddy go out of her sight
She wanted to play with the toys but with me holding her hand
As soon as one boy started crying, she then started to cry too
Oh boy!
After a while, we still need to go
Her aunties took over to calm her down
It's not easy seeing her crying in so much of an alien place
We were wondering the whole day how did she do at school
Is she still crying?
Does she eat?
Does she gets to sleep?
When we pick her up at 3, she is still crying
And she hates her school and her aunties and her uniform
She HATES EVERYTHING ABOUT SCHOOL
So there goes her first day of school
Err how do we get her to school tomorrow then?

Rouleau
Ihsan is turning five in a couple of days. 5 months of course not 5 years. His current weight is 5.8kg. Not that great but at least he's gaining some kilos.
He's becoming more attentive to his surrounding nowadays. Cheerful too.
He just loves to smile. Only if he is in a great mood of course. He definitely won't give you a smile if he is hungry obviously!
He loves his bathing time. He will just splash the water like nobody's business.
Ah yup he likes to roll from back to the front and so forth. That is his hobby nowadays. Ever since he acquired the skill, he will automatically roll over whenever he got the space.

His and Her Hand Foot and Mouth
Ihsan and princess Huda just recovered from HFMD couple of weeks ago. Quite a tough week for me. But yeah motherhood comes in this package don't they?
So, the eldest started to show the symptoms first. I only realized that she's actually having the disease after the visit to Dr Sheila's clinic for her flu jab. She got a fever a day earlier then she started to have the oral ulcers.
So when her Paeds started to examine her after she knew she had a fever, that I came to realize that she has those suspicious red spot on her palm too. Tricky it is.
Then her oral ulcer started to grow more and more, a day after. So there she was screaming in pain each time she was about to take anything orally. Irritable she was. Very furious. Not a darling princess anymore.. Sigh -__-
We visited ED the next day, worried because she could not take anything orally. Worried because she was so irritable and clingy and furious too.
That was when she had her blood drawn from her vein for the very first time of her life. Luckily the hospital never collapsed from her screaming. If not, I would have been given a new place to work. Haha not funny..!
Luckily she has not met the criteria for admission. She can still walk around, jumping about, teary and could still, at least took fluids although not much but pretty enough for a day at least.
You have to understand that this disease does not have any specific therapy. Meaning to say, they don't have the drugs to stop the infection. Its solely supportive measures. In which paracetamol would be given to control the fever and the pain, the spray to minimize the pain form the ulcer and fluids therapy for hydration. The disease will eventually goes away on their own with the help of our immune system. Hooray!!
So comes my number two worry.
How on earth can I separate her from her little brother??
Obviously they are sleeping in the same room and on the same bed. And its pretty hard to strain her from kissing her dear little brother.
Couple of days after, the brother started to show some signs. My enemy, the ORAL ULCERS! He refused to drink his milk. And he's becoming irritable too. My Oh my!
Thank goodness we have the magic spray. HAHA! So we spray here and there each time he's having his feed. Alhamdulillah, the ulcers went away after a couple of days.

TAKE HOME MESSAGE: Beware of the disease spread guys! Its really painful for a mother to see their children having the ulcers. We, our self could not tolerate even a single ulcer. So, can you imagine having a lot of ulcers in your mouth. Seriously, it is painful! Not my mouth but my heart. OUCH!
